This guy took many, many hours to complete, all while referencing the art of industry professionals in an attempt to self teach proper painting methods. And while I'm more or less happy with the result, I still have a lot to learn about painting.
Up to this point all my work has been very 'comic', in that they revolve around solid black outlines filled with solid colors. This was my first attempt at using color and shade exclusively to give a more realistic look.
It was equally fun and frustrating, I had the most fun doing the dings and notches in his armor. I particularly like the belt, and how vibrant the red on his cape and spear ribbon turned out....
...plus he looks mean as fuck.
